Ramallah: In Partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Education, UNICEF and the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, and funded by the government of Japan, Al Nayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation concluded “Badir - Adolescents Agents for Positive Change 2017”. The ceremony, held in Caesar Hotel Ramallah, released creative student initiatives and was attended by Business men, Investors from the private sector as well as several Public and not for profit organizations.

This end of program ceremony concluded a year of training workshops and activities for more than 200 teachers focusing on the skills of scientific research, critical thinking and communication, in addition to designing and implementing initiatives. The program targeted 6,149 students in 61 Palestinian schools inside seven directorates in the West Bank and Gaza. Adolescents in the “Badir” program designed and implemented 181 social, scientific and environmental initiatives based on scientific research.

Al Nayzak has also initiated the “Social Entrepreneurship” program, through which 120 adolescents developed scientific projects. These projects considered different issues through suggesting creative ideas in the fields of medical tools, electronic applications and agricultural engineering. Adolescents showcased their initiatives in front of Business men and representatives from the private sector. As part of its approach, Al Nayzak supports creativity and Entrepreneurship and connects students with the private sector in order to turn their initiatives into running businesses.  

 

The Director of Programs and Operations at Al Nayzak, Noor Nusseibeh, praised the accomplishments of “Badir” participants and their creative initiatives that showed a good understanding of their surroundings. Nusseibeh emphasized the students’ role in developing societies and building for the future.  She also pinpointed the “Badir 2017” accomplishments from developing the entrepreneurial projects program to opening the Innovation labs over the past years. Nusseibeh thanked the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and UNICEF for their partnerships, through which they accompanied Palestinian accomplishments and excellence for achieving a positive change. She also praised the government of Japan for supporting “Badir” program, and the Higher Council for Youth and Sports for providing student incubation.
