INSPIRE is the first conference of its kind in Gaza Strip, the first of a series of INSPIRE conferences headed, designed and presented by youth. The aim is to empower youth towards positive change and playing an active role in their communities; and to share Al Fakhoora students’ journeys of developing their skills, competencies, knowledge and experiences to invest in their communities. How and what inspired their hearts? How and what inspired their minds? And how did they turn this inspiration into action? In 2019, over 150 youth between 18 and 35 years old have been part of INSPIRE. Around 70% of the participants are scholars of Al Fakhoora Scholarship and Empowerment Porgramme (AF) while the rest are not. Through INSPIRE, we shed the light on the importance of sharing the gained knowledge and skills of Al Fakhoora scholars with their peers from the community. Al Fakhoora scholars have completed a unique civic leadership programme provided as part of their scholarship programme implemented by Al Nayzak for Supportive Education and Scientific Innovation and the United Nations development Programme/ Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP), funded by Al Fakhoora, a programme of Education Above All Foundation (EAA).
